Wondering how to properly wash/clean my new white hoodie.?

I'm about to purchase a white hoodie with some stripes on it, I was wondering; what's the best way to wash the hoodie the first time and every other time I wash it?Wondering how to properly wash/clean my new white hoodie.?
read the lableWondering how to properly wash/clean my new white hoodie.?
If it is fleece, polar fleece or furry (like velour), turn it inside out. This will prevent the texture from pilling. If it is sweat shirt material with a fleece inside, wash it right side out. In either case, zip it up and tie the hoodie strings together. Check the label to see whether it was made outside the US or Europe. If it was made anywhere in SE asia (India, Pakistan, Bangledesh, Phillippines) use a cup of white vinegar in the rinse water to set the dye and keep it from bleeding the next time you wash it. I would go the extra mile and put a dye grabber or shout color catcher in the load with the wash water and detergent. If it has more than 50% manmade fiber, wash it in cold water to prevent shrinkage.
I wash mine alone inside out and hang to dry (maybe a couple minutes in the dryer to keep out the wrinkles an reform it !!!!!!!
dry clean or look at the label and follow instructions

  • What would be an effective and easy way to wash my down comforter? It says to spot clean it and wash by hand?

Any tips that will make it quick and/or easy? lol

Thank you!!What would be an effective and easy way to wash my down comforter? It says to spot clean it and wash by hand?
even though it will cost you a good bit of cash... take it to the laundry..cleaner. Let them do it... if a degergent is left in the fabric.. eventually it willl break down the fibers and you will have and no comforter! What would be an effective and easy way to wash my down comforter? It says to spot clean it and wash by hand?
Take the GB under for your best bet this weekend.
take it to the dry cleaners.
tips from an old drycleaner...is it white? if not, test for colorfastness - rub white hankie w/water %26amp; the soap you use on a hidden area...if it's ok, use FRONT loading washer, make sure to rinse 2x, spin long and fast, after 2 or 3 dry cycles, lay it flat %26amp; make sure there are no clumps, if so break them loose %26amp; redry...you can press w/hands on the down-filled parts to expose any leftover water - yes, a bit of work but MUCH less expensive than the dryclean shop
I have 3 of those down comforters and I've just put them in the washing machine.... They shrink down to nothing and wash quite well.. I have a super capacity washer... I just use a Woolite or gentle wash soap and use the extra rinse cycle.. If you don't have a super capacity washer you can take it to the laundry mat and use the double capacity washers and wash them there... I've had my comforters for about 6 yrs. plus and I wash them every few months or so.... Also, it's good to get a duvet cover to keep stains to a minimum....

    Good luck

What is the best way to get white socks clean in the wash besides bleach?

My kids get their socks so dirty and I have tried putting bleach in the wash along with laundry soap and it just doesn't seem to do the trick. (plus I hate the smell of it) I know there are plenty of products out there - just wondering what anyone else has tried and actually had work? I am tired of buying them new socks only to have them wear them once and they come out of the wash looking filthy. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. What is the best way to get white socks clean in the wash besides bleach?
hydrogen peroxide and vinegar in the downy ball or if you don't have a downy ball just put 1/2 a cup in the rinse. What is the best way to get white socks clean in the wash besides bleach?
Try adding a cup of vinigar to your wash.

    Otherwise, you can try OxyClean.

But my bf gets his socks sooo dirty from work and so it becomes impossible to keep them clean, and I like to have where he has socks for work and then socks for not at work. Then we aren't buying them all the time and I'm not losing my mind trying to get them clean.

    Hope this helps!
I use environment friendly product for my white laundry. It is called Chlorine Free Bleech Dry%26amp; Perfume free and I think the product is working excellent to me. It has no nasty smell(No smell in fact), its better for your skin than regular one, and it is good for our environment too!
OXY clean has worked for me!

Do You think Kate McCann could wash her clean in the public's eye if she would give back all the money?

I believe people are upset, because they have taken such a large money (I believe over 1 million pound) as donation and now it seems the McCanns are involved themselves. The big donations come from celebrities like Richard Branson and David Beckham. Or what would clean their names. Certainly be fleeing home they have damaged their reputation and they should go back immediately to Portugal. At least they should start talking with the media, otherwise they will be stamped guilty irreversible or what do You believe?Do You think Kate McCann could wash her clean in the public's eye if she would give back all the money?
i always thought they were very strange showing such little emotion i know some people have been reared not to show emotion, it just i dont see how anyone could keep it together not knowing what happened and i cant see them keeping access to the fund much longer unless their cleared of suspicion x xDo You think Kate McCann could wash her clean in the public's eye if she would give back all the money?
They are guilty, I have thought that all along.
NO I BELIEVE PEOPLE ARE UPSET AS AN INNOCENT YOUNG CHILD IS MISING PRESUMED DEAD AT THE HANDS OF HER PARENTS.
I believe we should all await the outcome of a trial and 'innocent until proven guilty'. As far as I have seen they haven't touched much of the money and after their case is resolved it will go to help others who find themselves in the position of having lost a child.

I also believe that their original plan was to come home on Monday. The lease on the villa was ending and so that was their plan. The Portugese officials made them official suspects because they were leaving and it seemed prudent to do so before they left as that was the way things would eventually go according to the (alleged) evidence.

If I was innocent and had planned to leave, I would leave. If they wrongly accused me I would run for British soil. If I was guilty I would run. So what we have here is two people who have come back to Britain and it means nothing at all.
    I agree.

How do you protect your nails from breaking/polish chipping, etc... when You wash dishes/clean?

I am a nail freak and a mother of three. I do my own nails as well as my girl's and their friend's (depending on the occasion).

Just a couple of tips to add, go ahead and use the rubber gloves, but even that will dry out your cuticles and polish so be sure to moisturize after you have taken the gloves off %26amp; washed your hands. Most of us woman do the bulk of our house cleaning on a certain day, so pick later that same day or the day after to redo your nails. :)How do you protect your nails from breaking/polish chipping, etc... when You wash dishes/clean?
Wear rubber gloves, and you can buy Sally Hansens hard as nails fingernail polish, to make your nails stronger. How do you protect your nails from breaking/polish chipping, etc... when You wash dishes/clean?
    Put on your rubber gloves...
I do my own manicure once a week....during Thursday night t.v., have been doing that for years.

Pick good quality polishes. Use a base coat and a top coat (two is best.) I never wear latex gloves and my manicure lasts a week without chipping.
    wear rubber gloves.
    Just have to wear gloves

How do i clean my dishes cleaner? I wash them but they have water spots on them am i doing something wrong lol

I use dish soap and water.. Why arnt they getting cleanHow do i clean my dishes cleaner? I wash them but they have water spots on them am i doing something wrong lol
u have to dry them with a towel after u washed themHow do i clean my dishes cleaner? I wash them but they have water spots on them am i doing something wrong lol
First of all your dishes are probably very clean as far as food and germ residue. Are you using a diswashing DETERGENT. Soap is not generally used anymore as it leaves crud on most things unless the water is extremely soft (without minerals). Water spots are not dirt. If you have something you especially are proud of, dry it with a clean soft dish towel, or old clean T-shirt. Otherwise, don't let yourself get caught up in worrying about water spots. It's OK. Put your mental energy into something you enjoy. Good Luck.
Are you using a dishwasher or are you hand washing them?

If you are hand washing them, be sure that you are drying them completely with a soft, cotton dish towel. Try to use more than one towel so that they don't become too damp to effectively dry your dishes.

If you are using a dishwasher, have you tried any of the fast-drying agents on the market? Many of the small tablets (as opposed to the dishwashing powders) have fast acting drying agents. Jet Dry is also to serve the similar purpose.

If you have tried the fast-drying agents for a dishwasher, you may want to check and be sure that the electric coil in your dishwasher is working properly, as it is usually responsible for creating the heat to dry the dishes.
The spots are hard water deposits. When the water dries it leaves the minerals behind- in spots. You could try rinsing in very hot water so they dry quicker. If that doesn't help you're stuck wiping them completely dry with a towel.
If you don't see food on them when your'e done washing them, then they are clean! Sounds like your'e unhappy with the ';water spots'; that appear once they are dry. Right? I have two suggestions: You could towel dry them by hand, taking time to buff each piece into a sheen luster you can adore your image in, ~OR~ invest in a water softener that is built in to your home water supply. This can be somewhat expensive but will pay off in the long run. A more cost effective alternative would be to put a little Calgon in the sink with some hot water to rinse your dishes by hand then allow to air dry. When I was a kid, my mom used something called Rain Soft in almost everything except our drinking water. She used it in the laundry, in our baths, etc. We must of lived in an area that provided hard water. You might too. There are water testing kits you can purchase from your local hardware store that you can use to test your tap water to see if you do. If your using an automatic dishwasher................ your'e on your own there! Good luck.
try a capful of bleach in your wash water..just make sure to rinse them extremely well
try using fancier soap. if it's important to you drop a few bucks on a fancy name brand soap with lots of things like 'spot free' and 'super shiny dishes!' on the label. well.. i don't know about the second one but you know what i mean. don't use dollar store soap.
you might be using too much soap too. rinse them off after you wash them.

You simply need to wash with soap and or some special liquid soup that says it's for ';male hygiene';. Then after you wash you should dry off and then use a powder to help keep the area dry and fully of fresh vitality. How I can make my penis clean and what kind of lotions avaiable for this purpost to wash and clean the penis?
    Good ole soap works wonders.
any regular soap should do the job

be sure to pull back the foreskin and wash around the head, if you have foreskin

if you want to make it feel clean, you can use a little cologue on it, not too much
It sounds like you are polishing a new car? Just simple soap and lather at the time of your bath/shower is more than sufficient. Do you think we all have potions and lotions to wash our penis? A little common sense might help.

I got a tattoo a few days ago and was told to clean it with antibacterial, fragrance free soap. How to care for a tattoo:

    1) buy antibacterial soap such as dial (liquid is best)

    2) wash it by hand 2 to 3 times a day with warm water and pat it dry (no towels, loofas or sponges)

    3) get unscented lotion ( aquafor, cetaphil) and apply thin coat after washing it

    4) keep clothes from rubbing against it alot for the first 5 days

    5) always put sun tan lotion on it when in the sun

    6) any other concerns or questions consult the tattoo artist

How do waterproof fabrics get clean when you wash them if they are waterproof?

I have waterproof warm-up pants that are brand new, and when I washed them (and I saw them sloshing about in the washer) and put them in the dryer, they look like I had just taken them out of the shopping bag.How do waterproof fabrics get clean when you wash them if they are waterproof?
Waterproof simply means that the fabric is treated to prevent the water from flowing through from the face to its backing, thus keeping the wearer (who's body is in contact with the backing) dry.

When you wash the pants, though, you are washing off dirt, food, body oils, etc that have been deposited on the surface of the fabric. Think of it like a window: the window is waterproof (in that water doesn't go through it) but both sides still get dirty and have to be washed.

One thing to note, though: be sure you follow the washing instructions on your new pants carefully. Otherwise, you could wash all the waterproofing right out of them! How do waterproof fabrics get clean when you wash them if they are waterproof?
Waterproof usually means that they are stain proof since most stains are water soluble. You are probably washing what has dried onto the surface of the cloth.

How old has kittens have to be for you can wash and clean it?

Iwanted to know how old can the kittens have to be for you can wash and clean the kittens? How old has kittens have to be for you can wash and clean it?
All cats do groom themselves. If you can train a kitten at the right age which is about six to eight weeks then you might get lucky. Other wise you might get all scratched up. Cats hate water. Then again some cats are strange and love it.How old has kittens have to be for you can wash and clean it?
most bottles say do not use this on kittens under 8 weeks of age but if it has flea stuff in it then do not use it on kittens under 16 weeks of age.read the bottle.
I took in two orphaned kittens. So therefore to all the people above who said you cant wash them and that the mom cat is needed to wash them, well, there isn't one so, I have to do it myself. I use a damp, warm washcloth. Make sure you dry the kittens. They cannot be left cold and wet. My kittens are 10 days old today.
You don't wash the kittens yourself. The mother will clean them.

    ~Katherine~
Do not wash the kittens! The mother cat will wash them and take care of them.

Even adult cats rarely need to be bathed. They take care of their own fur very nicely. They do appreciate being brushed, especially if they have long fur, but otherwise they don't need baths like dogs do.
PEOPLE THEY GROOM THEMSELVES DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU GET ALL SCRATCHED UP IT'S PART OF NATURE
Cleaning a cat is never a good idea. They usually clean themselves, or other cats (their mothers) clean them. Can you give us more info on why you want to clean the cat?

    Good luck! :)
You should see on the product bottle of shampoo, they'll have a notice about what minimu age it needs to be before you can do that.
their mum does it! if they are away from mum...well at least over 10 weeks, then a warm cloth with a baby soap only a little..would be plenty. cats groom very well, and are usually fastidious by themselves. No flea products till over 8 weeks old!
Why do you need to wash them?

You can get a washcloth and dampen it with warm water and wash the kitties like that -- make sure you dry them carefully (with a towel only!) after that. make it fun for them -- sweet talk em while you do that.

I would Think that you can do that when they are about 4 weeks old-- just make sure they don;t get too wet so they don;t catch a cold.
I would wait until they could function on their own such as eating, seeing, walking straight. So i would wait until they were a couple months old because there mom should do all of that stuff for them while they are little...if there is no mom for the kittens you could probably wipe them off with a warm washcloth just don't put any soap on it and after wards make sure they are wrapped up or dry before you let them go off on their own, they could get sick.
If you really feel like you have to wash a kitten look at the cat shampoo bottle.

(you shouldn't, they're supposed to wash themselves, or their mother when they're younger)

What's the best way to wash or clean a dirty baseball hat?

Put it in the dish washer!-What's the best way to wash or clean a dirty baseball hat?
You can get a ';plastic'; hat keeper (for lack of the proper title of it) at any Wal-Mart or like store, that is in the shape of a baseball cap. You open it up, put your hat on it and it closes over the hat. Then put it on the top rack of a diswasher (if you have one). The hat keeper allows the cap to get washed and maintain it's shape at the same time. If you don't have a dishwasher, you could probably wash the hat by hand, with the cap keeper, and let it dry staying in shape. What's the best way to wash or clean a dirty baseball hat?
dishwasher, or wear it in a pool
Dishwasher. Sounds weird, I know, but it works without ruining the shape of your hat.
i always put mine in the washing machine. but sometimes it can ruin the shape of the hat so sometimes if your worried about that u can take it to the dry cleaners and that works.
always heard the dishwasher top rack
    I agree. Dishwasher works great.
put it in the clothes washer ON DELICATE and after it's done air dry
Dish washer is the best way. They even make these plastic things that hold the shape of the hat while it washes and dries. You can get them at places like bed bath and beyond. I you don't want to purchase one just put a bowl under it so it hold the shape while it washes. You can dry it on the bowl also or stuff it with newspaper so it holds the shape you want.
    the dry cleaners
I always make a mixture of laundry det. and water %26amp; scrub w/ a toothbrush. Then dry on top of a jar or a wig head (not sure what the technical name is).

How to wash or clean a portabella mushroom?

with a moist or damp paper towel. gently. How to wash or clean a portabella mushroom?
with water and a soft brushHow to wash or clean a portabella mushroom?
you never wash mushroom!!! clean them with a brush!!!
Just use a clean, damp towel to clean them off. Never put them in water - they're like sponges. Same as with strawberries.
    dishwasher
moisten a paper towel and wipe gently. No Water!
This is the one-and-only use I have for that sprayer attachment on my kitchen sink. Break off the stems, being careful to leave the caps intact. Don't throw the stems away, though.

Put the caps, stem-side down on a baking rack (or cooling rack), right in the sink. Set the (cold) water faucet on ';high';, and blast the mushroom caps with the sprayer attachment. Really let them have it. Then, just let them sit there and dry thoroughly. The idea is not get water into the underside of the mushroom; THAT'S what gets them soggy. Water in the gills. BTW, this applies to all ';capped'; mushrooms, not just portabellas.

As for the stems...you don't have to be too careful with them. Wash them, cut off any tough/fibrous parts, and cut them into little chunks. Put the chunks in salad, or into an omelet.

    http://bbqforreal.blogspot.com/
do not wash mushrooms, wipe gently with a paper towel, they will get soggy otherwise, portabello , sprinkle with olive oil, extra virgin, lightly with balsamic vinegar, aged vinegar, salt pepper, grill on bbq, put on bun with lettuce, tomato salt pepper, cold beer ha ha

How can i wash/clean bath mats without ruining them?

I used to put them in the washing machine but they get worn out and fall apart. How can i wash/clean bath mats without ruining them?
they should have come with a CARE LABEL detailing water temp, dry cycle etc. if the label's gone by now, use the slowest spin cycle on your washing machine, and hang them outside.

or you can just just hand wash them and hang outside in the sun on clothing line.

What experiences have you had with the 'Mr. Clean' car wash systems?

I would like to know your opinion of the 'Mr. Clean' car wash, and 'spotless' rinse systems. Have you kept using it? What are your pros %26amp; cons of the system, and any 'lessons learned' hints. What experiences have you had with the 'Mr. Clean' car wash systems?
I own the Mr. Clean auto-dry car wash system. The system initially worked well but later the filter would not make the auto-dry effect (the car would be spotted). I had replaced the filter and even a brand-new one would not make the system work. However, I do like how the system mixes the soap and water.

PS: A reason it may not work for me is because I am using the car was system at my Lake Home out in the country side (using well water) and not at my main home (which is on city water). What experiences have you had with the 'Mr. Clean' car wash systems?
It claims up to 10 uses but in reality you only get 6. I am very disappointed about this! I rinse very fast as if it might happen but that just does not help. They should have made it so you can replace your own fresh unsalted resin beads. Report Abuse

    never used it. sorry

Moms! Do you know which way to wash or clean a white leather purse?

I have a white Michael Kors purse, i hardly used it because it's easy to get dirt. Do you know which one i can use to wash or clean it? Sorry for wrong category but i think moms who have more experience.

Thanks in advance.Moms! Do you know which way to wash or clean a white leather purse?
Baby wipes. They are magic cure all for getting things clean with minimal damage.Moms! Do you know which way to wash or clean a white leather purse?
I used to work in a Dry Cleaners...

    Please don't put in washer.

I agree with the baby wipes-you can add conditioner after to soften it.

Saddle soap for horses is best.

But, if you don't have that, baby wipes, and you can add a little Windex if you want to help clean it.This is drying, though, so after cleaning, put a little oil, baby oil maybe, on a washcloth and rub it in.

The Mr Clean things work too.I tried the generic, and they don't work.

The Mr Clean magic eraser for the bathtub works best.

Sometimes when you wash leather, it gets out of shape and loses it's suppleness, it gets stiff. It won't feel right.A shame on a Micheal Kors.

I clean leather tennis shoes this way too, clean, then put some Vaseline, or olive oil on after.

Good luck, and go ahead and use that nice bag, honey!
Rubbing alcohol (make sure you use a light colored cloth) or baby wipes always worked for me. If it is a scuff mark then it is easier to get off using a small amount of baking soda tooth paste and a light colored wash cloth.
Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work wonders!
try your best and put it in clorox soak in for 10 min close hood and wash

How do you wash or clean your penis?

Im just interested and a I hope you know this question is for guys! How do you wash or clean your penis?
Its like washing my car...green scratch pad and lotsa soap...well sometimes I use my rubber ducky too...lol...have a good one!How do you wash or clean your penis?
Most times I don't even worry about washing it - it never gets very dirty. I just stand under the water and it gets wet. When I do wash it, I usually wash out the creases where my legs attach to my abdomen first. There are always extra suds, so I'll scoop some up give the ball bag a quick wipe, then I'll get another handfull of suds pick up the penis with my hand like I'm holding a screwdriver, and squeegee down the length to get the suds off twice (otherwise the soap residue will dry up and be sticky/slimy). There's no foreskin to clean under, so basically after that I'm done.
    1. stick it in boiliing water (this will get the warts off)

    2. Use a brush (your tooth brush preferably) and SCRAP off the nob cheese.

    3. put the nobcheese on toast and eat it.

    4. Apply bleach and a dishwasher tablet to ';dirty'; area

    GOOD LUCK MATE :D
put soap on it and masterbate. then rinse!

    it's what i do

u could always handwash them.. thats what i do with my soccer shoes..

i jus use a tissue, water, and soap.. and if u want.. u can use a scrub brush..
throw them in the wash with this soap called ';oxi-clean'; (or something like that)...it works wonders in getting stains out
put them in the washing machine, but make sure u take of the laces! if they laces r dirty just soak them in a sink, but if they r torn up and stuff, get new laces.
Very carefully and don't put them in the dryer. Make sure to take out the shoe strings and a mild color safe soap with bleach for the stains and tooth brush. You can wash the shoe strings in the washing machine but not the shoes. By hand!!!

it might, but is it worth it to try? with how much it costs and its on u forever...just use a lil dishsoap...then put vaseline on it...Can I use antiseptic wash to clean my tattoo?
Do NOT use ordinary soap, it will dry out the tattoo which will draw colour out from the skin, use an anti bacterial hand wash in liquid form, rub over tattoo gently then rinse off, patt down dry DO NOT rub dry.

wait for it to air dry, about 30-40 minutes, then use small amounts of cream, here in Australia i use Bepanthem, its a nappy rash cream used for babies, i suggest a cream used for babies nappy rash as it is sensitive on skin, and wont irritate the tattoo. after first few days stop using cream, also only wash couple times a day,

when you use a cream use very thin amounts over the tattoo, dont want to much moisture as it will also draw colour out of the skin.

    hope this helps.
Use antibacterial soap, maybe even poor/rub hydrogen peroxide on it before you wash.
isn't it like under the skin? I use bandaid antiseptic wash on my cuts all the time. love it. btw, it's not a soap. I think it's even gentler than a soap because it's made to be put on open cuts.
Place a call of inquiry to the tattoo salon to be sure.
i wouldnt use it...just stick to soap
Buy some antibacterial fragrance free soap you cheap *** mother ******. You bought a ******* tattoo. Buy a $2 bar of soap now.
just use regular soap. then get some cures lotion. or call the shop that did your tattoo
I definitely wouldn't use it. There's a good possibility that it will dry the area more than it should be [and you will see, it will start drying on it's own].

As the artist suggested, stick to fragrance free antibacterial soap and be sure to use a scent free lotion like lubriderm twice a day for the first week or so.

How can i wash/clean bath mats without ruining them?

they should have come with a CARE LABEL detailing water temp, dry cycle etc. if the label's gone by now, use the slowest spin cycle on your washing machine, and hang them outside.

or you can just just hand wash them and hang outside in the sun on clothing line.

Do I have to wash my clean clothes after using a bug fogger?

I am frustrated at having moths in my home. They are everywhere! I had gotten them from a box of pasta. I have decided to use a bug fogger to get rid of them immediately. I am wondering after the fogging process is over do I have to wash all my clothes and clean any other items like my jewelery or curling iron. Just trying to be cautious. Thanks!Do I have to wash my clean clothes after using a bug fogger?
Short answer, No. Long answer, Probably. Be sure to read the label, but to be on the safe side you should probably rewash them. There are a lot of chemicals involved. If they get on your clothes, you never know what you may have an allergic reaction to. Save yourself a lot of time and buy some cheap plastic sheeting when you get the fogger. Cover things like clothes and blankets before you set it off and you will save yourself some work later. Good Luck.

What materials do I need to wash & clean a car?

What materials do I need to wash ANY brand or type of car old or new and also do a thorough cleaning inside and out? What materials do I need to wash %26amp; clean a car?
water and a garden hose and spray nozzel some sort of car wash detergent( i like the rainx one it makes future water on it bead up and roll off) sponges to wash with, bucket for the water and soap to be in. a hard bristle bursh to scrub the tires with. Some tire cleaner( I like black magic for tires) Wheel or rim cleaner (we use jewlers rouge) and a softer brush and a cloth to use on the rims. If your are gonna wax it the wax(turtle wax is good) and a soft cloth to rub it in with. For inside you need some lint free soft cloths and protecterant(I like black magic interior care or armorall) and you wipe down all the vinyl or plastic inside. Windex to clean the windows and paper towls. A shop vac or at least a hand vac to vacuum and I use carpet and staine remover on my matts. Also can take a lint brush and roll over the seats and headliner to help get hair or more dirt out. Can also hand vac the seats. What materials do I need to wash %26amp; clean a car?

I live in a small town and the nearest dry cleaning store is an hour away.Is there any way to wash dry clean only clothes at home?
There is a product called Dryel, it's for people that want to do dry clean from home.Is there any way to wash dry clean only clothes at home?
Silk will not wash well. Other things I put in one of those little mesh zipper bags (prevents stretching out of shape as well as going into the dryer..) wash on cold. You don't even need to do the gentle cycle if it is in the zipper bag. do not put it in the dryer at all. If you need to do a bit of stretching or shaping, do it while the fabric is wet.
yes, they have some kind of little ball that you can buy, and all you do is throw it in the dryer with you dry clean only clothes.....sorry I don't know the name, but you can find it in the detergent aisle
i use Woolite and cold water. Then hang the clothes on a hanger and let dry. Occasionally try to stretch the clothes as it is drying so it won't wrinkle then iron it gently of course the rest of the wrinkles
Here is how you can do drycleaning at home:

How to wash/clean stainless steel fridge?

I want to know what to my wash stainless fridge door with before applying the stainless steel polish. How to wash/clean stainless steel fridge?
Tips For Cleaning Your Stainless Steel

No matter if you are in an industrial kitchen or just your household kitchen, maintaining the look and the cleanliness of your stainless is essential.

There are plenty of products on the market that claim to be able to help you, but you can also do just as good with just knowing how to handle it.

Stainless steel is difficult to clean because streaks and fingerprints show up easily. It is easier to see grime, grease and fingertips on stainless than on windows. To help you to keep your stainless steal countertops, utensils and appliances clean, follow these basic rules of thumb.

Much more at web page!!How to wash/clean stainless steel fridge?
vinegar water, natural grease cutter.... works great on wood floors and windows too.

    Be Blessed!
clean with soap and water then clean with windex. stay away from oil based stainless steel cleaner if you must use it use a water based cleaner
I just use a regular spray on kitchen cleaner like 409. Then after I do that to prevent the streaks, just use baby oil. Put a tiny bit on a paper towel and wipe it over the doors.

I learned this from online and from a pal that is in the navy. They can't have streaks on anything for navy inspections.
if you first wash it with hot soapy water to get rid of any grease. Then make a solution of vinegar and water in a spray, spray the solution onto stainless steel, wipe down, then polish dry with a clean cloth, you will not need stainless steel polish as it will come up lovely and clean and shiny.

What happens if you wash ';dry clean only'; pants?

Is it OK?What happens if you wash ';dry clean only'; pants?
I wash ';dry clean only'; garments all the time, although they are unlined. If the pants are unlined, go ahead and wash them in cold water with a cold rinse. Do not put them in the dryer. Hang dry and press if necessary. What happens if you wash ';dry clean only'; pants?
I agree with Harley. I wash most all of my dry clean only clothes. Even cashmere.

Clothing manufactures put these labels on for their protection. Seriously! Washing is hard on clothes unless done properly.

Just wash it by hand in cold water or a gentle cycle. Run in the dryer for a few minutes and then hang to dry.

I could not tolerate the strong chemicals used at dry cleaners.
they could shrink, if they are lined, you could end up with the lining sticking out of the bottom of the pant leg
If they're made out of wool, they will pucker and shrink. If you've already done this, take them to a dry cleaner, they may be able to stretch them back out.

This happened to me a few weeks ago (forgot to go to the cleaners, tossed them into the wash w/o reading the label). The cleaner was able to fix them (mostly), you can still see a bit of puckering around the waistband and around the cuffs.
no it isn't okay - the fabric might fall apart, it might shrink, etc. If you must do it yourself, get yourself some dryell or something.
my guess is they'd be clean lol. it depends on the fabric..
It depends on the fabric. If its a thin, silky fabric the water and detergent may leave spots on it that wont come out. They make a really simple product for dry cleaning. Its like a dryer sheet, and you just put it and the clothes in your dryer and it refreshes them. Obviously if you've spilled something or you have a spot on it, you should have it professionally done, as the dryer will just bake it in.
if lined the lining would not shrink but the pants would.
kinda trashes the garment. A ';dry clean'; garment does not do well if pounded by water and soap for 45 minutes.

I would recommend airing it out on a clothesline or in a dryer, but the stuff should just disappate in any case.Do I have to wash my clean clothes after using a bug fogger?
No...everything is fine. I believe that the fog dissipates after about 4 hours and has no residue on anything.

When I use them I make sure and keep all food in proper containers and no food left out.
Personally I would wash everything. The package says it doesn't leave a residue, but I'd lean toward the side of cautiousness and clean everything that the fog touched.

Is there a proven way to hand wash dry-clean-only clothes successfully?

Please share the process, it is so tedious and expensive to wash my work clothes weekly since I can't afford so many sets.

Thanks a lot.Is there a proven way to hand wash dry-clean-only clothes successfully?
You can get products to dry clean your clothes at home, at much less expense. It involves putting the clothes in the dryer with a special cloth. Try this sight for more info: http://www.drycleanerssecret.com/Is there a proven way to hand wash dry-clean-only clothes successfully?
You may ';wet wash'; dry clean only items BUT once you do you can not chemical dryclean them after. Try steaming your clothes clean w/ a professional steamer...I have seen on infomercials. Add some concentrated high quality liguid detergent to the water to freshen the items or that Fabreez stuff!
my grandparents used to own a dry cleaning store.. my gram told me if these ppl. jst knew that they could use Woolite they would b out of business... i'm surprised about the other ladies blouse. It has to b on gentle cycle... cold water %26amp; like someone else said.. put in the dry for a few on low temp 2 take the wrinkles out %26amp; hang to dry.

My gram even used it when it the material was wool... but it has to b cold water %26amp; hung dry.

Since u have lots of work clothes.. use the gently cycle vs washing by hand.
You can't hand wash dry clean only clothing. I learned the hard way, when I washed a blouse that was to only be dry cleaned. I didn't read the label, hand washed it in Woolite, %26amp; it shrank horribly. I learned to read labels on clothing before buying them in the future.
Take your least favorite piece of dry clean only and try this--put washer on gentle, put piece in, use cold water, gentle soap. When it is on rinse add some fab. softener--put in dryer on gentle for a few minutes to remove wrinkles, remove and hang to dry. I did it for years and it works perfect--do not do it with a jacket or something lined.
Use Woolite. Hand wash one piece at a time, rinse and hang on a hanger to drip dry. Make sure you have the good hangers with the skirt clips to hang skirts or slacks. Do not hang them on wire.

Be prepared to steam them after they are dry.

The only time I use a Dry cleaners is for my Husbands suits.

    For their pressing mainly.
Dryell works great in the dryer.

There is no beadwork or anything special. It is not a down comforter either. Can you wash ';dry clean only'; comforters in the washing machine?
I have washed my ';dry clean only'; comforter in my washing machine....but my comforter was a twin size. Make sure your item can fit into the wash basin without jamming it in.....and make sure that if it gets destroyed in the wash that you're fine with that.

You could also take it to the laundromat...most laundromats have 1 or 2 commerical sized machines (its best not to go on weekends though...as they're usually all taken) and launder it there.

I've also used Dry Cleaner's Secret to ';dry clean'; items in the dryer at home.

Its also a good idea to throw a new, clean tennis ball in with comforters, blankets or pillows when in the dryer. Helps keep the fluff! Can you wash ';dry clean only'; comforters in the washing machine?
I work in a Dry Cleaner's so i do know that you can wash SOME comforter's that say ';dry clean'; only...The part that is dangerous for your comforter is the dryer,if you have cording around your comforter it will shivle up and lose it's shape.
If you use the ';gentle cycle';, you MIGHT get it clean. But buy dry cleaning sheets for ';at home' use in your dryer!
If it is a down yes go ahead and wash it, i do it all the time, even if it says to dryclean down u need to wash it cause the chemicals from the drycleaning will kill you..what kind of material is it?
yeah thats what i do...just make sure to dry it through cuz it takes longer than other blankets and such. also, when your drying it, halfway through the drytime take it out and just change the position it is or else it dry all of it.

Is there a safe way to wash Dry Clean clothes in the washer?

Why are some things dry clean only anyway? Is there a safe way to wash Dry Clean clothes in the washer?
It's always a gamble. Some fabrics react to water by loosing their sizing, the stuff that keeps them crisp and thus loose their shape. Spray sizing and ironing may but some back, but just on the surface, not inbetween threads.

Other fabrics will shrink or stretch when they encounter water and nothing will reverse that. Some dry cleaning has special detailing that is ruined when thrashed against the walls of a washer or dryer.

So.......it's up to you. If the clothing has a special way it hangs or falls, no, don't wash. Knits can often be hand washed in cold water and then dried flat on towels, but they will be a bit different looking. Jackets have just too many sections to safely wash unless it is an ';unconstructed'; jacket, that is rather loose and not form fitting and then again cold water, hand wash, steam when dry to get wrinkles out....good luck.

Read those labels before purchasing clothes! I've walked out of stores because the clothes were mainly dry clean. Is there a safe way to wash Dry Clean clothes in the washer?
It is possible to 'dry clean' items at home. It is IMPOSSIBLE to dry clean anything in a washing machine. WATER is, by definition, NOT used for dry cleaning. Report Abuse

OK, the person above me is really stupid.

';Dry clean'; means that NO water is used. The liquid dry cleaners use is turpentine, is it not? Isn't this why most dry cleaning stores smell like paint stores? *grin* Report Abuse

    AALOO CHAAT Report Abuse

The product they're referring to is called ';Dryel.'; It's a bag that you put dry-clean only clothes in, and then throw in the wash. I never used it, just saw the advertisement. You should probably look them up first. Report Abuse

There is a product in the grocery store that can be used for dry clean only clothes but you use it in the dryer. You put your clothes in the bag with a damp dry clean pad and dry for a certain amount of time. I did find out if it says dry clean only, you probably should not wash it, but if it says dry cleaning recommended, you can wash in cold on the gentle cycle. Use Woolite if washing.

What is the best way to wash or clean a pair of boots?

I need to clean a pair of uggs-leather boots with sheep skin inside. I have been told not to put them in the washer. What is the best way to wash or clean a pair of boots?
Don't do it!!!! Any suede cleaner will do but with the expense and longevity of UGG's I want them to stay nice so I spent the extra money and bought the waterproofing spray and cleaner to play it safe. I got my cleaner at Nordstroms.com. I don't think it was more than around $10 or so, but I got it with the other spray so I don't remember exacctly. What is the best way to wash or clean a pair of boots?

  • Is there a safe way to wash ';Dry Clean Only'; items at home?

I take dry cleaning once a month. However, I have 2 skirts that I would like to freshen up. They are polyester/rayon/spandex blends. (That's kind of embarrassing. I assumed they were stretch wool blends until I looked at the labels to post on here.) Thanks for your help.Is there a safe way to wash ';Dry Clean Only'; items at home?
That kind of blend of fabric is man-made, and actually very durable. If you decide to wash it in water, make sure that you test an area with water (on a q-tip) to make sure that it's colorfast. If it is, it would probably be save to wash it in the gentle cycle with Woolite.

Dryel works well, too, but a bit expensive. If you don't have any stains on the skirts, and just want to freshen them up, put them in the dryer for a few minutes with a dryer sheet - on low heat.Is there a safe way to wash ';Dry Clean Only'; items at home?
Dryel supposedly works, or just hang them upright and steam them.
No problem, just put them in boiling water for an hour, they will come up as good as new
I love Dryel. It's great for freshening up between dry cleanings.
    Try Dryell....
If the label says ';Dry Clean Only'; and you wash the item they might shrink or maybe not .

It all depends how much you paid and if they are worth taking the risk.

Usually Rayon does a lot of shrinking . I would take them to the cleaner !
Tepid or warm water and cool will do okay with Dry Clean Only garments Good Luck !
no need wasting money. just pop them in the washer on the most delicate agitation cycle with a special wool detergent.. nothing could go wrong
i have had good luck with dryel. when you first purchase it, expect to spend about $20. there is a special bag that you have to use. then after you get the bag, the sheets aren't that much. just put the garments in the dryel bag, put in a dryel sheet, place in the dryer. voila. fresh clothes.

How Much does a Housekeeper cost in Manila? How much should one expect to pay someone to cook, clean and wash?

How Much does a Housekeeper cost in Manila? How much should one expect to pay someone to cook, clean and wash?what is the average salary? The person would come a few hours a day to Do the Cooking, some cleaning and laundry..How Much does a Housekeeper cost in Manila? How much should one expect to pay someone to cook, clean and wash?
Average is P2,500-3k a month in Manila, in the province its P1,800-P2,000 per month. These are stay-in rates. The problem with these rates is the high turn around, they can easily leave you if someone offers them a better rate.

If you want your housekeeper to stay with you, pay her a good rate and provide for her jeepney fares. Give her incentives or bonuses if you can't afford giving her a constant pay raise when gas prices go up.

A good rate is P5-8k a month, she will stay with you for years. 6k would be- let's say a government clerk or an administrative office worker's salary. So this would be a good deal for her. This also depends on how experienced she is, like if she has been a housekeeper or nanny for 10-15 years.

If you decide to go with the P2,500-3k a month, please make sure you pay for her monthly social security and philhealth (health insurance). This is a good thing you can do as an employer and it is also required by the law.How Much does a Housekeeper cost in Manila? How much should one expect to pay someone to cook, clean and wash?
I lived in Manila for 3 yers until Aug 2007.聽 I paid my house-helper PHP 500/day + 100/day transport.聽 That was under the premise of doing everything in the house for 3 x 8hr. days.

Here is the good part:I know she was usually done in under 5 hrs. If needed (like twice a year or so) she would stay as long as required.

I know her transport was like 15 or 21 pesos each way. Yes, that means she kept probably 70 pesos out of the transport money. Who cares.

I also know that many Filipinos would pay less than half of that, Again, who cares. She was happy/I was happy, she appreciated it and I'll never miss it.

Don't compare to a live-in maid as you would be expected to provide living quarters and food for them, but lower salary.
i made the same inquiry yesterday in the philippines and was told a good live in maid is about $100 a month in manila, and up to half that amount if you live the provinces
I pay my Maid P3,000/month. She double as Nanny and house keeper, she even do the laundry. She wakes up at 6:00 Am and sleeps at 11 pm on her choice.
pay her the amount that you would want to be paid if your roles were reversed, she will be happy and your conscience will be at peace
