My feather bowers are 20 maybe 30 years old and I do not have have a clue how to wash or clean them. The last thing I want to do is ruin them!!! The feathers must be as they were before washing or cleaning them. I believe there made of ostrich feathers.How do I wash/clean a ostrich feather bower??
I found a website that sells these and here's what they recommend: ';If your boas need fluffing hang in front of a fan to fluff. (Watch while fluffing)
A hairdryer set on air no heat will also fluff them back to life.
We also recommend that you dry clean our feather boas. ';
Here's a site that will send you a free brochure on caring for it. You have to fill in some info first.

Feathers are made to get wet. I wash my feathers in the kitchen sink. Fill basin with warm sudsy water, use woolite or baby shampoo. Slosh around. Add feathers or boa. I drain water carefully with boa still in sink. Rinse and drain. When almost dry remove and lay flat on several towells to dry. I'm not sure why you need to wash them, if it's due to dust then try to shake/remove as much dust first.
Hope this helps. I have a large tub in my craft room with feathers of all kinds I've cleaned.
